SECURITY
Security isn’t about eliminating risk. It’s about knowing what’s happening, preserving access, and having procedures in place before you need them. Panic comes from not knowing what to do next. Good systems always have a next step.
Fixing your RiskS:
Security isn’t about eliminating risk. That’s impossible.
Good security means knowing what’s happening, preserving access to your systems, and having procedures in place before you need them.
Panic usually comes from not knowing what to do next. The systems I design and maintain are built so that there’s always a next step — whether that’s restoring access, recovering data, or responding to a problem quickly and calmly.
In practice, that means focusing on things like:
• protecting access to your email and accounts
• maintaining tested backups
• ensuring your devices and services stay synchronized
• creating recovery paths before anything goes wrong
